Best of 2025 - Number 1

For the third time in the past five years' countdowns, the top spot is going to a line other than Integrity Toys.  Three collections were produced and shipped in 2025.  From those collections I added seven dolls plus another I got in a trade for one of my duplicates.  Here are the links to my reviews of these collections and the dolls I received:

I have been collecting Jamieshow/Owensu since their Premier Collection debut in 2020/2021 and have been waiting for the design and quality to level off.  It hasn't.  Somehow designer Owensu keeps finding a way to give collectors better and better designs and the production quality is beyond anything available to collectors.  

It may not seem reasonable to compare mass produced plastic dolls to these hand painted/hand blushed resin ball-jointed little works of art, but they both are produced made-to-order to the general public.  The cost of a nude Muses doll is more than 250% that of an Integrity dressed doll with accessories, but the quality truly is there.   The ensembles cost between $175 and $300, but they are made from the finest fabrics and are designed and sewn with the greatest attention to detail.   (It helps quality control that Owensu oversees the entire production process himself overseas.)  Since the dolls are the same size and can share the same clothing and shoes, they display quite nicely together.   (If anything, I think Integrity Toys should learn from this and offer a high end alternative to their own collections called "IT Atelier".)

In an effort to be as fair as possible, I gave Jamieshow/Owensu one place in my countdown as a doll line, but the only place they belonged was the Number 1 spot.   More and more collectors seem to be willing to move from quantity to quality in their collections and are joining this line, creating a very loyal following.  

Jamieshow/Owensu doesn't do those silly lotteries that always seem stacked against collectors, nor is the secondary market filled with dolls offered by employees/family members of the parent company at jacked up prices.   If a collector wants a Jamieshow/Owensu doll, they just place a pre-order and they get it.  No stress.  No worry.   No aggravation.  The smartest thing Jamieshow does is over-produce their orders so they can offer "leftovers" publicly after all collectors receive their orders.  It gives us the opportunity to see post-production photos on social media and pick up items we may regret overlooking from the pre-order window.  Again, this prevents collectors from having to go to secondary mark-up for items.

If you're even remotely familiar with me as a collector, you know how I feel about Jamieshow/Owensu Muses.   They seem to have monopolized my doll purchases over the past five years.

If you've considered purchasing something, now is a good time.  Jamieshow/Owensu just opened the purchase window for their newest collection, Wild At Heart.  It pays homage to the American Wild West.  Here is the promo photo:

There are four female dolls in this collection.  Each is quite beautiful and the price point has stayed the same at $475.  Each doll comes with a high quality telescoping stand (the stand actually screws into the base), dressing hands, and an interchangeable wig cap.

The dolls are expensive but are quite durable and extremely well made.  These are 12" ball-jointed dolls made from resin material that can wear most ensembles found in other 12" wardrobes.

In addition to the dolls, there are seven accessory sets ($110 each) which include hats, boots, and shoes, and six different wig styles.   The cap wigs are $45 and can only be used with other Muses dolls.  The couture wigs ($110) are hard cap wigs made by hand and can be worn by other doll lines.

This collection included 15 separate looks, ranging in price from $200 - $250.  Each look comes with shoes/boots, jewelry, hats/headpieces, purses and coats.  The quality of these ensembles have to be experienced to be truly appreciated.  Here are my three favorites.

"The Masterpiece" - The Latest Jamieshow/Owensu Muses Collection Pre-order Until May 3

This collection is truly extraordinary.  There are only four dolls offered:  A new version of fan-favorite Astrid, a newer version of male doll Gabriel, and two new females:  Celeste and Blanca.  Each is fantastic in its own right, but the stand-out among collectors is Celeste.

The theme of this collection is "Masterpiece".  Many of the Looks are inspired by easily recognizable artist Masterpieces on display in museums around the world.  Many of the ensembles were inspired by noted designers like Christian Lacrox, Yves Saint-Laurent, Schiaparelli, Dior, and Mugler.  There are fifteen ensembles ranging in price from $175 - $250.  The ensembles include jewelry, shoes, and oftentimes headpieces, sunglasses, and purses.  There were four ensembles for male dolls and eleven for the girls.  Here is a quick view of what is being offered.

In addition to the fifteen ensembles, there are ten accessory sets (two for the guys, eight for the girls).  One of the coolest things this time is there are little resin purses with famous paintings on the outside included with many of the offerings.  Here is a photo of my favorite, inspired by Austrian artist Gustav Klimt.

Since Muses are bald with a "wig cap" system, there were also several wigs in various colors also offered.  

Jamieshow operates just like Integrity Toys.  This is a pre-order period where the they establish the edition sizes of the items made-to-order.  Buyers pay a 20% deposit now and are invoiced for the remainder right before shipment.

I usually struggle with placing a pre-order, but this time the process of elimination has been excruciating.  How do you choose?  I will leave you with three of my favorite looks.

Collecting Cycle 2024 - Jamieshow/Owensu La Vacanza

Similar to Integrity Toys, Jamieshow/Owensu Muses dolls are premiered prior to production.  The actual number of items pre-ordered determines how many dolls and ensembles will be made.  There were three strong capsules previewed in 2023.  The first arrived to collectors in March and was called La Vacanza.  There were two new versions of previously released characters, Ginnie and Natalie.  There were also two additional females representing new molds/characters.  

This time around the dolls were packaged wearing spa ensembles.  Each doll came with a terry cloth robe, turban, cute little mules with bows, a pair of dangle earrings, and a pair of sunglasses. Also included was a Jamieshow stand, dressing paddles, a cleaning sponge, and a wig cap.  The retail cost of each doll was $475.

One these girls is actually the first Jamieshow/Owensu Muses doll to feature a mold with an open mouth.  Her name was Astrid.  Here are Jamieshow promo photos.

This doll falls into a younger looking category than most of the Muses dolls.  She looks fresh and more like an Integrity Toys NuFace character.  In addition to the four female dolls, there were twelve ensembles offered in the La Vacanza line.  Here is Astrid wearing the full Look 5 ($175).  I am showing it from behind so you can see how nice the attached bow is placed off-center.

The shoes for Jamieshow Muses are a perfect fit for Integrity Toys Fashion Royalty and Nuface dolls.  Although many of the Jamieshow/Owensu ensembles will fit both Fashion Royalty and NuFace, the fit may be a bit snug on Fashion Royalty.  They are a perfect fit on NuFace.  This allows the dolls to share wardrobes.

The second new character mold is called Camille.  Here are her promo photos from Jamieshow.

Here Camille is wearing LaVacanza Look 1 - $200 (which is my very favorite ensemble from this collection and looks like it was based on a produced design by Chanel).  

A closeup.  The wig is La Vacanza wig cap 3 in platinum.  Collecting Cycle 2024, Number 10 is Jamieshow/Owensu Muses La Vacanza Camille.

This doll is probably one of my very favorite molds ever offered.  She is like a cross between Lauren Bacall and Michelle Pfeiffer.  However ... when La Vacanza was released I had just finished binge watching Emily in Paris.  I picked up on the fact that the La Vacanza line was based on European fashions and there was a female character named Camille and a male character named Gabriel.  Here is a photo of Camille Razat the actress who plays Camille in Emily in Paris.  Is there a resemblance?

NOW, I bet you are wondering about Garbriel, right?  Here is the promo photo of the male La Vacanza character Gabriel.

And a photo of actor Lucas Bravo who plays Gabriel in Emily in Paris.  Again, I believe there is a small resemblance.

Even though no other La Vacanza characters are listed by name, the second male character, Dusan, definitely reminds me of Lucien Laviscount who plays Alfie.

When this dolls started showing up in post production photos, I was fortunate enough to get one in the "leftover" sale.  When the staff of Jamieshow places their order for a capsule, they "pad" the order a little. After all collectors have received their orders and any quality control issues have been handled, Jamieshow releases the "leftovers" for sale on their website.  That is a wonderful way for collectors to pick up something they missed in their preorder.  

Here is Dusan wearing Jamieshow/Owensu Look 13 (there were four looks for the guys included with this capsule - Look 13 retailed for $225).  This is such a modern look and is designed immaculately.

How about a closeup of that handsome guy?  Collecting Cycle 2024, Number 11 is Jamieshow/Owensu La Vacanza Dusan.

The Jamieshow/Owensu Muses "leftover sale" is still available on the website  Jamieshow/Owensu La Vacanza Leftover Sale.  Some of the dolls haven't sold out yet and a couple ensembles can be purchased as well.  These items go pretty quickly after collectors see post-production photos.  I have been sitting on my hands to keep from hitting the purchase button on Gabriel myself!

Best of 2022 - Number 2 - JamieShow Muses Holiday Enchanted Collection

The second capsule of Jamieshow dolls received by collectors in 2022 was promoted last Christmas Season and was called "Enchanted".  This time there were only two male dolls but five females - all of them new versions of previously shown characters.  Photo property of Jamieshow Owensu Dolls.

You wouldn't know it from the dolls themselves, but this collection was based on Fairytale Couture.   I rarely display a doll in my collection wearing a gown, so I thought I was going to be safe with this collection.  Surprisingly, not the case.  Below is a sampling of the offerings in a Jamieshow Owensu Muses Promotional Photo. 

These ensembles are just opulent - look at the rich textures of materials!   The design aesthetic is off the chart and it is reflected in the cost of each ensemble, as they range in price from $200 to $350 each.   I allowed myself only one of the five male ensembles offered this time.  (Yes, that is a "Phantom of the Opera" mask!)

Since these ensembles and headpieces were so extravagant, I only allowed myself to preorder one of the dolls and four of the sixteen female ensembles .  Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any of the ten accessory sets this round (four for the males, six for the females) which only included three pair of shoes each and cost $85 each.

So how does Jamieshow Muses Owensu Holiday Enchanted merit such a spot in my countdown.  They say a picture is worth a thousand words.  This is Look 16 being modeled by Summer Kisses Nicole.  I fondly refer to to this gown as the "origami gown" as the folds are just a true work of art; it is the largest gown in my collection!

In addition to the gowns, collectors were offered ten very elaborate couture Owensu headpieces priced from $100 - $180.   I could only afford two headpieces.  Here is Nicole with Headpiece J added to that incredible gown.  How intricately decadent!

Jamieshow Owensu ensembles are beginning to attract many cross-over collectors since most of these ensembles can fit Fashion Royalty/NuFace dolls.  

Although I already reviewed the one doll I preordered, Jamieshow Muses Enchanted Lilly, in a previous blog entry, this doll has not been redressed since being displayed in this ensemble.  She is just a little piece of 1:6 scale fashion art.  Lilly is still wearing Look 5 with Headpiece E.

After collector photos started showing up, I started regretting my lack of foresight in not purchasing Enchanted Grace, but I was fortunate to grab her from the "leftover sale".  Here she is modeling Look 10 also from the leftover sale.  Her wigcap is from an earlier offering.

It can't be denied that it is difficult to surpass the quality and beauty of the Jamieshow Muses Holiday Enchanted Collection - Representing this collection for Best of 2022, Number 2, is Holiday Enchanted Grace.  

Best of 2022 - Number 3 - Jamieshow Dangerous Love Collection

To try and be fair across lines, I decided to take the Jamieshow contenders and group them according to capsule.  The first capsule of 2022 was called "Dangerous Love".   It included four male and four female dolls.  Here is the Jamieshow Owensu Dangerous Love promo photo:

Dangerous Love Orlando (second male from the right) has already shown up on my countdown because he was included with the Number 9 of 2022 male dolls.  I can honestly say that I regret not getting Daniel (first male on the left). 

These dolls are made using a Jamieshow exclusive copyrighted resin formula that doesn't have a history of yellowing or turning brittle.   They are strung, ball-jointed dolls that use a "wig cap" technology for changing out their looks; they feel quite heavy and luxurious to the touch.  Each doll is hand painted and blushed, so they are almost like OOAK dolls.  All of this is reflected in their price of $425 (the price was raised to $450 for the 2023 dolls).  This price point causes me to be very selective about which dolls join my collection.

In addition to the eight dolls, there were 26 ensembles (8 ensembles for the males and 18 ensembles for the females), five new wigs caps in various colors, and twelve accessory packs (8 for the girls and 4 for the guys).   The mix and match possibilities were limitless!  With all the post-pandemic manufacturing and shipping problems, Jamieshow pulled off quite an impressive collection in 2022.  Below is a promotional photo sampling of what was offered.

I preordered the male ensemble from the photo and picked up two additional male ensembles during the "leftover sale".  I preordered five of the female ensembles and picked up three more from the "leftover sale".   The starting cost of ensembles was $135 ranging up to $200.  These ensembles are just amazing.  The attention to details and all the pieces included is reminiscent of Integrity Toys in its heyday circa 2004/2005.  All ensembles came with jewelry, shoes/boots, and most included purses.  Some of these ensembles included coats, belts, and even headpieces!

Although all four of the female dolls were amazing - I only acquired two.  Here is Dangerous Love Ginnie wearing the complete ensemble from Dangerous Love Look 11.    

I reviewed the dolls I purchased from this collection earlier this year,   Dangerous Love Dolls, but am going to include one of those photos again because it is probably my favorite doll photo I took this year.  When you've been collecting Integrity Toys dolls for several years, you acquire quite a wardrobe. When you combine the Dangerous Love ensembles with those IT pieces, you can create something like this.  The Skirt is from Dangerous Love Look 22.  The blouse is from Merveilleuse Agnes, the hat and scarf are from Exquise Adele, and the boots belonged to Poetic Beauty Eden.

To keep this entry fresh, I took out several pieces from the Dangerous Love collection and redressed Dangerous Love Sasha.  An appropriate look considering the recent temperatures here in the south over the past week!

The majority of Sasha's ensemble is from Look  21- the coat, skirt, purse, and earrings.  

Those incredible patent leather, lace-up boots with grommets (yes they have a zipper in the back) are from Accessory Pack B.  I couldn't resist this accessory set because it had an orange Birkin bag, a pair of sunglasses, a fur collar/cape, and two other pairs of shoes (one of which is for flat feet).  The accessory packs can be expensive (almost as much as an ensemble) but they do pack a punch at $115!

The  top is from Look 22.  Look 21 also included some incredible shoes - the heels actually looked like tubes of lipstick!

So Number 3 of 2022 goes to the Jamieshow Muses Dangerous Love collection for bringing collectors so much enjoyment in redressing their dolls.  Representing this line in the countdown is Dangerous Love Sasha.
