Muses The London Season Is Open For Business

Owensu never fails to impress!  The latest 12" collection, "The London Season", is now available for pre-order.  Here is the promo of the collection ...

There are five dolls offered this time around:

1. The second version of Valentina that was last seen in 2023 (Moment of Joy Valentina has become a grail among Muses collectors.)

2 and 3.  A pair of sisters in different skin tones named Elodie and Eloise

4. The fifth version of collector-favorite male character Gabriel but this time with a ginger beard!

5. The second release of male character Christian but with freckles!

The dolls are resin (a proprietary, patented blend that ages well), are ball-jointed and strung with elastic cording, and are hand painted and blushed.   Each nude doll comes with a stand, dressing hands, and a wig cap.  The males are limited to an edition size of 150 and the females are limited to 250.  The cost is $475 each.

Pre-orders are currently being taken until 10:00 p.m. EST on August 15.   Collectors must pay a 30% deposit with the balance due when the collection is ready to ship.  The price of items includes the tariffs and shipping is free if you spend at least $1500.

The collection includes 15 ensembles (11 for females and 4 for males) priced from $200 - $250, 10 accessory sets (8 female at $110 each and 2 male at $95 each), and various wigs in different colors and various prices.

The ensembles are inspired by designers Vivienne Westwood (4 Looks), Chanel, Christian Dior, Simone Rocha, Kenzo, etc.  They are meticulously detailed and come with incredible accessories.  I'm not going to lie, this is one of my very favorite collections Owen has released.  The ensembles fit Integrity Toys dolls (may be a little snug on the upper torso of Fashion Royalty) and other similar size/shape 12" dolls.

Let's Make It An Even 10

Since separating from longtime U.S. distributor George Gonzalez (formerly Angelic Dreamz), Jamieshow/Owensu (JS/OS) has a lot to prove to collectors right now.   When it was announced this relationship would be dissolved, fans of Muses (12") and Glam Dolls (16") experienced quite a bit of anxiety.  The parent company and production facilities are in Asia, so there was a lot of worry regarding the current tariff situation affecting shipment costs.

JS/OS made several announcements on social media that they would absorb the tariff charges and include free shipping on all orders over $1800.   In addition, they wouldn't be collecting state sales tax since their home office was outside the U.S.

As the old saying goes, the proof is always in the pudding.  Since I saved quite a bit of money on sales tax and shipping, I was able to add an additional two wigs and another ensemble.

When the package arrived, I was very impressed with how everything was collated into smaller boxes to help protect items during shipping.  This was probably the best shipping I've ever seen on any product.  The devil is always in the details and Jamieshow/Owensu has a reputation for paying extreme attention to those pesky details.

I'm not going to lie, when the Wild At Heart collection was advertised last year, I was less than thrilled.  Although Taylor Sheridan (creator of modern American western series including Yellowstone, 1883, 1923, Landman, Dutton Ranch, Y:Marshalls, and The Madison) is realizing a great deal of success right now worldwide and has reignited the world's interest in The American West, this fashion aesthetic is not a favored of mine.  Fortunately, OwenSu had the foresight to design the collection based on incredible couture fashions from the past decade or so.

This just goes to show how accessories can completely change a designer's concept.  Add cowboy hats and boots and you have Cowboy Couture!   Although the Wild At Heart (WAH) theme didn't speak deeply to me personally, the WAH models totally stole my heart.  There were two new characters and reissues of two other JS/OS models.  Three of them have side glances (which I have been begging for) and one has freckles!  I was so happy I was able to resist many of the looks because my budget was totally ate up with the collection of models!  I had to have all four!  And the couture wigs this time around were amazing!  

Collecting Cycle 2026 Number 7 is Jasmine (Last seen as Garden Party 2024).  This time she has a side glance.  She is wearing Couture Wig 3 in Ash White and Ensemble Look 14,  She is the most dramatic from the group.

Collecting Cycle 2026 Number 8 is Camille.  This is the third version of Camille.  Previous incarnations were 2023 La Vacanza and 2024 Let Them Eat Cake.  This time we have a gorgeous amber-eyed side glance.  Camille is probably my favorite from the collection.  She is wearing Couture Wig 2 in Berry Sangria and Look 13.  (The crop is from a Barbie Silkstone ensemble)

Collecting Cycle 2026 Number 9 is new model Evelyn.   Another fantastic side glance.  She has on Couture Wig 1 in Blonde and Look 7.

Collecting Cycle 2026 Number 10 is new model Larissa.  She is very popular with collectors due to her freckles.  I was running out of WAH ensembles and it has been so hot here in the south, that she is ready for the pool. She is wearing Masterpiece Wig Cap 3 in Bronze and Garden Party Look 14 with a different purse and a hat by Mattel.   She reminds me of a young Celine Deon.

My very favorite ensemble from WAH was Look 10 which I added later.  It definitely has Chanel vibes.  Moments of Joy Valentina volunteered to model it with Couture Wig 2 in Silver Cloud (probably my favorite couture wig ever produced).

For not being a fan of western wear, I wound up with four dolls, five ensembles, and eight couture wigs.  Had I not been selling off older IT dolls, I would've had serious budget concerns!  Owensu continues to dominate the 1:6 doll world with incredibly designed and produced fashions.  And the dolls just keep getting better and better.  Sadly there is less and less room for IT girls around here and those staying are being narrowed down to my favorites of the favorites.  

Hopefully, we will continue to see the same shipping quality and financial considerations from JS/OS.  As the future seems quite uncertain, we can hope for the best.  And the best is what we've come to expect from this group.  Unfortunately, I can't keep bringing them in four at a time!

Best of 2025 - Number 1

For the third time in the past five years' countdowns, the top spot is going to a line other than Integrity Toys.  Three collections were produced and shipped in 2025.  From those collections I added seven dolls plus another I got in a trade for one of my duplicates.  Here are the links to my reviews of these collections and the dolls I received:

I have been collecting Jamieshow/Owensu since their Premier Collection debut in 2020/2021 and have been waiting for the design and quality to level off.  It hasn't.  Somehow designer Owensu keeps finding a way to give collectors better and better designs and the production quality is beyond anything available to collectors.  

It may not seem reasonable to compare mass produced plastic dolls to these hand painted/hand blushed resin ball-jointed little works of art, but they both are produced made-to-order to the general public.  The cost of a nude Muses doll is more than 250% that of an Integrity dressed doll with accessories, but the quality truly is there.   The ensembles cost between $175 and $300, but they are made from the finest fabrics and are designed and sewn with the greatest attention to detail.   (It helps quality control that Owensu oversees the entire production process himself overseas.)  Since the dolls are the same size and can share the same clothing and shoes, they display quite nicely together.   (If anything, I think Integrity Toys should learn from this and offer a high end alternative to their own collections called "IT Atelier".)

In an effort to be as fair as possible, I gave Jamieshow/Owensu one place in my countdown as a doll line, but the only place they belonged was the Number 1 spot.   More and more collectors seem to be willing to move from quantity to quality in their collections and are joining this line, creating a very loyal following.  

Jamieshow/Owensu doesn't do those silly lotteries that always seem stacked against collectors, nor is the secondary market filled with dolls offered by employees/family members of the parent company at jacked up prices.   If a collector wants a Jamieshow/Owensu doll, they just place a pre-order and they get it.  No stress.  No worry.   No aggravation.  The smartest thing Jamieshow does is over-produce their orders so they can offer "leftovers" publicly after all collectors receive their orders.  It gives us the opportunity to see post-production photos on social media and pick up items we may regret overlooking from the pre-order window.  Again, this prevents collectors from having to go to secondary mark-up for items.

Every year I choose a doll that joined my collection in the previous 12 months to feature on a digital Christmas Card.  This year I chose one that didn't qualify for my "Best of Countdown" because she was produced and released prior to 2025.

Muses - 5th Anniversary Collection - Pre-order Open Now!

To celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the re-imagined JamieShow Muses line, the designer, Owensu, has produced a phenomenal capsule of high-end couture!

There were ten complete Looks offered in this collection.  All of them are formal.  As much as I love the Muses line (and if you follow me, you know that I do), I was slightly underwhelmed with this collection.  Owen's designs for the Time & Timeless and Masterpiece collections set the bar very high for future purchases from me.  Although Muses items are quite elevated in comparison, I can't help but see Silkstone and Integrity Toys items that are similar:  Silkstone Gala Gown, IT Pink Perfection Poppy Parker, various Monogram ensembles, FR Spectacular Spectacular ... to name a few.

Since I don't own Spectacular Spectacular and it only fits the older, tall FR body any way, my pre-order included Look 5 and Look 10.  Everything is beautiful, but I couldn't justify ordering color variants of a similarly styled gown at $300 each.  I don't usually have criticisms for Jamieshow/Muses but this collection seemed rushed and under-designed compared to the last few.  As a five year Anniversary Celebration, I definitely expected more.  Unfortunately, it pales in comparison to the  Premier Collection that inspired it.

There were no Accessory Sets included in this capsule.  Wigs included three regular magnetic skull cap designs based on previous issues and two hand-made new couture hard cap offers.

As a nod to the first five characters from the Premier Muses Collection, Jamieshow/Owensu chose to offer newer versions inspired by the originals.  Here are the promo photos of the 5th Anniversary Muses dolls posted by Jamieshow/Owensu placed next to their Premier inspiration conterparts (photos of Premier dolls borrowed from Muses Dolls Reference Site.)

First up is 5th Anniversary Sasha.

It's super easy to see the inspiration here.  The dolls are actually so similar it's almost difficult to justify the $475 (plus taxes and shipping) cost of adding the Anniversary version if you already have Premier.   Again, I am going to complain about the dolls being sold with a repetitive wig choice.  I thought they had stopped doing this with Legends.  It's one of the things I most appreciated about the Time & Timeless, Masterpiece and Wild At Heart dolls.  They came with newer wig styles, sometimes the ones offered separately in the collection.   I think this will be the fourth center-parted long silver wig in my collection.  C'mon guys you can definitely do better than that!  Especially at these prices.

Again, the inspiration is apparent; however, unlike Sasha, there is enough difference to justify purchasing the Anniversary edition even if you have the Premier one.  Love the red lips!  Easily going into my cart.

Next up is Ginnie.

I'm confused by this one.  I don't see any resemblance at all.  Premier is gorgeous, but I must say there is something special about the Anniversary edition.  Another easy purchase choice.

There is only one version of Lilly in my collection, Enchanted, and she is one of my very favorite Muses girls. 

I'm really not a fan of pencil-thin eyebrows.  I think the anniversary version completely pales in comparison to Premier and I fail to see any inspiration at all.   Anniversary Lilly reminds me a lot of Go East Sakura.  She will probably redress beautifully, but she's not in my pre-order.

The last Muses in this collection is Nicole.

I'm not sure what to write here.   I hope those who love her truly enjoy having her in their collection.  How's that for being diplomatic?  Again, I only have one version of Nicole in my collection, Summer Kisses, and it looks like she will continue to be the only version in my collection for the time being.

Collecting Cycle 2025 - Number 14 and Number 15

 If I were to complain about anything with Jamieshow/Owensu, it would have to be how close together they put new shipments and promote new fashion capsules.  For some reason, they are always within weeks of each other which can be quite a financial burden.  Just as you are paying your outstanding balance on an arriving shipment, the preview of a new collection pops up (or vice versa).   

Collectors received their orders from the Time & Timeless collection a couple weeks before the Wild At Heart capsule was announced.  I hadn't even had time to review and update my blog between the two!

I only pre-ordered two of the four dolls from this collection.  The first up was the second version of the Thea character mold.   Here is the Jamieshow/Owensu promo photo:

And here is Thea in her stock wig wearing Look 10.  This doll definitely does not disappoint. (I can't believe she is still available for purchase, as of Nov. 9, in the storefront:  To Purchase Time & Timeless Thea on Jamieshow Website .)   Number 14 of Collecting Cycle 2025 is Time & Timeless Thea.  I have her wearing Time & Timeless Look 10.  (I added the hat pin, but everything else is stock.)

These ensembles certainly did not disappoint.  I can honestly say the Time & Timeless collection was the best "mass-produced" couture I've ever seen in this scale.  I don't usually post a video, but I can't emphasize enough how incredibly beautiful these items actually are.

If it looks familiar to you SITC fans out there, it's the Dior wedding dress Carrie wore for the fictional Vogue photoshoot.  Designer John Galliano for Dior 2007.

This was also based on design by John Galliano for Dior in 2007.

In a previous post I had criticized Jamieshow/Owensu for including the same straight, long wigs with their dolls instead of using wigs from the collection.  It may be by coincidence, but JS/Owensu included wigs from this collection with the dolls and I couldn't be happier.  The wigs Thea and Daphne came with are outstanding and were sold separately in T & T for $45 each.  

These ensembles are truly extraordinary.  I can't even put into words how decadent they are.  The materials are expensive and the cuts are very generous!   So many folds and layers.   I wound up ordering eight of the 12 looks in this collection.  Here are some of the other Looks.

Look 8 with hat and shoes from The City Lights Accessory Set (sold separately).  The original ensemble had a flapper head band and cream shoes.  I thought this hat and shoes made it look less costume like.  The Model is Bonjour Paris Sabina.

Look 9 was put on a Jamieshow/Owensu mannequin (yes, they actually sold mannequins)!

It's easy to see how I lost my mind (and totally blew my budget) on this collection.  Jamieshow/Owensu is definitely elevating my collection to a level that will be difficult to compare to other dolls lines.

If you're even remotely familiar with me as a collector, you know how I feel about Jamieshow/Owensu Muses.   They seem to have monopolized my doll purchases over the past five years.

If you've considered purchasing something, now is a good time.  Jamieshow/Owensu just opened the purchase window for their newest collection, Wild At Heart.  It pays homage to the American Wild West.  Here is the promo photo:

There are four female dolls in this collection.  Each is quite beautiful and the price point has stayed the same at $475.  Each doll comes with a high quality telescoping stand (the stand actually screws into the base), dressing hands, and an interchangeable wig cap.

The dolls are expensive but are quite durable and extremely well made.  These are 12" ball-jointed dolls made from resin material that can wear most ensembles found in other 12" wardrobes.

In addition to the dolls, there are seven accessory sets ($110 each) which include hats, boots, and shoes, and six different wig styles.   The cap wigs are $45 and can only be used with other Muses dolls.  The couture wigs ($110) are hard cap wigs made by hand and can be worn by other doll lines.

This collection included 15 separate looks, ranging in price from $200 - $250.  Each look comes with shoes/boots, jewelry, hats/headpieces, purses and coats.  The quality of these ensembles have to be experienced to be truly appreciated.  Here are my three favorites.
