Just when you thought collecting Integrity Toys dolls couldn't get any more stressful, Jason Wu goes and produces two dolls wearing miniature versions of his couture items and makes them super exclusive by selling them in the Net-A-Porter stores.
Collectors actually watched for these dolls FOR WEEKS! They would get up in the middle of the night and check the websites. They would hang up on friends in the middle of conversations because they had an alert from Net-A-Porter. People couldn't sleep. It was a nightmare. When the opportunity showed up in foreign countries first - domestic collectors got mean. It was like a pack of wolves fighting over a caribou carcass! (Photo by Integrity Toys)
I sat that one out! I'm still not completely sold on the Aymeline mold. I own the first one, Celebration, from the 2019 Legendary Convention.
I like her gown. I love her hair. Her screening is quite beautiful. When I look at her, to me, she looks like she is holding ice in her mouth.
The Spring 2019 Aymelines are lovely dolls. I really don't care for the gowns though. The dolls look like they should be performing in a mariachi band. The gowns just aren't my cup of sangria.
This is a photo of a Halloween costume I found on line. Maybe that's where Jason got his inspiration.
I know some of you love this gown. Please do not send me hate messages - (I'll just delete them and I'm too old to care). I'm glad at least one collector felt they needed this gown in their life but didn't want the doll! My favorite of the two is the Plum version. I truly love the richer skin tones in my collection. The collector sold the nude doll at a price very close to the original retail price. I couldn't pass it up. I put her in a playline blouse, the coat from the 2020 Style Lab "And Scene", Sister Moguls "leather" pants and "The Beast" ear cuffs.
The Number 3 doll added to my collection in 2022 - Spring 2019 Plum Aymeline. I imagined her more modern. (LOVE that hairstyle!) I think this is a very fierce doll that can prove to be very versatile. I'm so glad I was "in the right place, at the right time". And I didn't have to get up in the middle of the night to check websites for weeks.
