How About A Baker's Dozen?

As longtime collectors, there are always certain dolls that seem to elude us.  I was able to recently acquire one of mine.

Reflecting back on the 2015 Integrity Toys (IT) Cinematic Convention ...  2013's Premier Convention collection was still fresh on everyone's mind with its incredible show of Fashion Royalty fan favorites ending the convention with souvenir doll Midnight Star Elyse Jolie and After Tonight Eugenia Frost as the table centerpiece.  (I still have both those dolls displayed in their original ensembles.  They truly represent IT at it is finest.)  Not to mention the previous year's 2014 Gloss Convention's Intimate Reveal Agnes Von Weiss accompanied by table centerpiece Sheer Sensuality Vanessa Perrin, which resulted in a standing ovation of thunderous applause when revealed.   The anticipation of the 2015 crowd was palpable!   IT had set the bar extremely high for convention souvenir dolls.  Collectors were salivating like Pavlov's dog!

When the convention doll was unveiled, the response was not what the designers expected.  The majority of the audience just sat there in shocked silence.  Were they being punked?  

This is the story behind one of the least loved of all Integrity Toys dolls, Making An Entrance Karolin Stone.  Secondary market prices on this doll were almost at give-away level!  My photo of her:

The reception of this doll was so icy that only five versions of the character have been produced over the past eleven years.  

The following year a talented designer, Salvadore Lopez Arriaga, decided to give this mold a second chance by using it in his design competition entry as Alta Moda.  Alta Moda won the design competition in 2016 and went into production as an exclusive W Club purchase opportunity.  Unfortunately, collectors still remembered how difficult it was to get rid of Making An Entrance and the pre-order edition of Alta Moda was only 430 dolls.  When the production doll was released and photos began showing up on social media, I was one of those collectors that deeply regretted not adding this girl to my collection.

The limited edition run, paired with the couture runway faceup, caused this doll's prices to skyrocket and they have remained quite high when one rarely shows up on secondary market.  In 2019, I drove to the Live From Fashion Week IT convention and picked up my best doll friend and her friend to ride along with me.  Her doll friend was the designer, Sal.  We became instant friends.  It made the pain of not acquiring Alta Moda even more difficult.  

Many collectors know that "If it's meant to be, it will happen" and "Being in the right place at the right time".   I was offered the opportunity to add Alta Moda to my collection recently at a very affordable price. Here she is wearing the skirt and top from 2009's Monogram Black Party.

Finally joining my collection, Collecting Cycle 2026 Number 11 is Integrity Toys NuFace Alta Moda Karolin Stone.    In my opinion, the best version ever produced of this particular character.

Other important sayings are "Treat others as you would want to be treated" and "What goes around comes around".   IT recently released a new and quite exclusive Misaki called Streetwise.  200 of the 500 edition size were offered to W Club members through a right-to-purchase lottery opportunity.  My luck with lotteries hasn't been too great lately with IT, so I had to rely on retail to get this girl.  When Fabric Friends listed this doll as available, I was trying to use my phone to order her and got everything all tangled and wound up ordering a second Neo Wave instead.  I contacted the owner and explained my problem.  Unfortunately, the doll was sold out by the time we got everything sorted out.  I was told that my refund would be short the processing fees, which I was alright with.  Fabric Friends was unable to give a partial refund and chose to absorb the difference as a financial loss to themselves.  I sent them enough money through PayPal Friends & Family to cover the fees.  They remembered the kindness and, when they acquired more than they had originally been allotted, they notified me that I could purchase one.  It pays to be nice to our dealers!  Streetwise is selling on secondary market at almost three times her retail price.

Collecting Cycle 2026 Number 12 is Integrity Toys Misaki Streetwise.  

I have been trying to cull my collection quite a bit recently.  One of the doll lines that I enjoy but don't spend a lot of time photographing is the Integrity Toys Poppy Parker dolls.   They are quite irresistible, so I tend to acquire more of them than I have space to display.   As much as I try to be selective in my Poppy Parker purchases, I find myself getting seduced by W Club exclusives.  I'm so glad that I didn't pass up the opportunity for this girl.  The clothing pieces alone make for a lot of fun mix and match playing and redressing!

Collecting Cycle 2026 Number 13 is Integrity Toys Peace and Harmony Poppy Parker.

Best of 2025 - Number 2

I sort of "painted myself into a corner" this year.  I created my countdown and started it on December 21.   A couple days before Christmas Day, a collector listed the Yuri/Kumi twins at a great price.  I purchased them thinking they would arrive after December 31, so my countdown wouldn't be affected.   The seller wrapped them as Christmas gifts and sent them immediately after purchase and they arrived the day after Christmas!  Kumi and Yuri truly are two of my very favorite dolls I purchased this year and definitely belonged in a top spot in my 2025 countdown.  

This meant I had to pivot in my blog.   I was too far along in my countdown to leave any out!  So, I decided that my very favorite Integrity Toys (IT) dolls from the Fashion Royalty and Nuface lines would share the last spot dedicated from the IT brand.

I think the NuFace line shifted in 2017 with the production of the Fairytale convention line which produced several grail dolls; some of the best versions of characters produced to date.  I think the response to these dolls gave Jessy a lot of confidence.  He has often pushed the envelope on convention NuFace dolls since that time with the likes of The Enchantress Nadja Rhymes, Tantrum Erin Salston, and La Sombra Alejandra Luna.

Jessy did not disappoint collectors with this year's offering, Le Cirque Cabaret Clownesque Nadja Rhymes.  I have seen photos on social media where collectors have taken the hair down into a big pink afro and she is gorgeous!  Definitely another little piece of doll art!  (I added the balloons prop.)

There were some beautiful Fashion Royalty dolls that made it to collectors in 2025.  My very favorite was one from a W Club lottery.  She is truly an incredibly gorgeous version of one of my very favorite sculpts.

Best of 2025 - Number 3

When Jessy Ayala promoted the 2024 NuFace Audio/Visual Capsule there was A LOT of collector buzz.   This line introduced the NuFace 3.5 body and a new sculpt.  Yuri and Kumi have always used the Lilith/Eden Blair sculpt in the past; it was about time they got their own identity.   

It was near impossible to get Yuri from a dealer, and I was unlucky in the W Club lottery for Kumi.   When post-production photos of these two dolls started showing up on social media, I was so disappointed that I didn't own them (especially since I think Yuri looks like Christina Applegate when she played Kelly on Married With Children).    Their secondary market prices had prevented me adding either to my collection.  

Fortunately, I was in the right place at the right time just before Christmas.  A very kind collector offered these two at an incredible price I couldn't resist.   We all know the twins have to travel together, so they are sharing one spot in my countdown.  Even though each doll individually could certainly demand one their own.

Best of 2025 - Number 3 is Demonic Strings Kumi and Angelic Sound Yuri.

Best of 2025 - Number 9

It's sort of strange how this turned out ...

The very first doll added to my collection in 2025 was Number 10 in my Best of 2025 countdown.  Now we have the very last mass-produced doll to join my collection in 2025 in the Number 9 slot.

Nadja Rhymes (version 2.0) is one of my very favorite molds in my collection.  I think it must be one of Integrity Toys (IT) designer Jessy Ayala's also.  He has done so many wonderful things with Nadja.  

This version of Nadja was designed by Jason Wu and is the third time this dress/hairstyle combination has shown up at IT, with the previous versions being 2009 Optic Verve Agnes Von Weiss in yellow with a gray bow and 2009 Optic Clash Dania Zarr in black with a fuchsia bow.  (There was also a reimagined version in yellow using Giselle Diefendorf as the model, but there was very little comparison to the original design.)   I love the material used in this dress, the fact that the bow is in the same fabric and color, and the hair color choice/skin tone of Nadja Rhymes.

A truly beautiful doll worthy of a place in anyone's Top 10 of the past year.   Best of 2025 - Number 9 is Optic Gold Nadja Rhymes.

Best of 2025 - Number 10

I can honestly state that this was one of the more difficult years for me to choose my Top 10.  Even though the choices were limited from what was added to my collection, there were some outstanding candidates.  Collectors received several of the dolls originally promoted in 2024 as "20th Anniversary" collections.  There were some extraordinary giftsets; accessories were generous and screenings were gorgeous!  It made it very difficult to put the dolls in order of preference.

The first doll is one for which I only have a couple variations in my collection.   She was the first doll added to my collection in 2025 and was a very pleasant surprise.  She has a lot of redress potential and her ensemble was young and fresh.

She was a 2024 W Club Exclusive.  Here is the Integrity Toys photo of all the accessories.  These boots are one of my favorite footwear items in my collection!

I Spoke Too Soon - Collecting Cycle 2025 Numbers 24 - 27

When I finished with my last post, I breathed a big sigh of relief because it looked as if I was going to finish the year strong with more dolls leaving than arriving.  That great feeling lasted all of a New York minute!

It turned out that a doll I had forgotten that I pre-ordered from overseas came in stock and shipped out.  I have been a HUGE fan of the Integrity Toys Misaki line since it debuted in 2006.  Even though some of them have moved on to other homes, there are still a good many in residence here.  Somehow IT decided that 2025 marked the 20th Anniversary of Misaki with a silver version of the first doll in the line, Tokyo Here We Go/Tokyo Here We Go - Mauri (although 2016 was the 10th Anniversary Tokyo Here We Go 3 in blue and there was a 2009 pink version Amelie "Revisited: Tokyo Here We Go"). This version has beautiful platinum hair and big brown eyes; I couldn't resist her.  

Collecting Cycle 2025 - Number 24 is My Hearts Belongs to Tokyo Misaki.

Apparently, the clog in the Integrity Toys production pipeline has been cleared.  Another shipment of dolls came in earlier this month and included a doll I had pre-ordered.

Collecting Cycle 2025 - Number 26 is Optic Gold Nadja Rhymes.

Integrity Toys had an online convention in November this year.  There were several "made-to-order" items that W Club members could pre-order and a few wonderful lottery items as well.   The theme was "La Cirque Cabaret".  For some reason it reminded me of the underground circus performers in the Batman Returns movie.  The only doll that interested me was one for which I own every version of the mold.  I won the lottery for the opportunity to purchase her and those lottery dolls were also in the same IT shipment.

Collecting Cycle 2025 - Number 27 is Clownesque Nadja Rhymes.  I have seen this doll with the twisted ponytails released and she looks phenomenal.

Which brings me to my last doll I expect to receive this calendar year.  Some doll friends can get you into really big trouble.  But it's the best kind of trouble.  I truly admire the Russian doll line, Dominion Doll.  They are difficult to obtain but are the highest quality available in 1:6 scale.   My friend does a lot of business with this designer and was given a preview of his last special OOAK collection, Urban Denim.   I absolutely fell head-over-heels for one of the dolls in the collection and my friend was able to broker a purchase for me.

Collecting Cycle 2025 - Number 28 is OOAK Dominion Dolls Urban Denim Kim.

I don't expect any more dolls this year.  I guess it's time to proceed with my Top 10 Countdown.

2025 - First Doll of 2025 - Baby Blue Imogen Lennox

I can't believe it is already April, and I am just completing my first post of the year.  Last year was not one of favorite collecting years. My sweet husband was recovering from a major car accident and I was devoting a lot of my time to him.  Fortunately, after a BIG surgery late in the year, he is finally on the mend and can do more for himself and around the house.  We made the life-changing decision for him to take an early retirement to focus on his recovery and it has made the world of difference.

As a doll collector, I was disappointed in myself last year.  My guidelines were completely ignored!  I was only able to sell five dolls from my collection while 29 joined the herd.   That wasn't just a "step" in the wrong direction, but an actual "leap"!   

As many of my followers know, the focus of my collection has shifted over the past couple of years to Jamieshow/Owensu Muses.  I have pre-ordered fewer dolls over the past several months and have passed on several opportunities.  I am truly trying to focus on quality vs. quantity.

I almost didn't join the W Club for 2025 even though I have been a member since it first started in 2006 (I even have my membership pin).   That doesn't mean I can't appreciate a beautiful doll when I see one.

The biggest benefit to the W Club is the exclusive offers and lotteries.  This brings me to the first doll I received in 2025.  Integrity Toys NuFace Baby Blue Imogen Lennox was a W Club Exclusive from 2024 that cost $175 plus taxes and shipping.  This doll checked so many boxes for me:  Nuface character, hungarian skin tone, short platinum hair, and a ton of accessories and redress opportunities.

Although I am not the biggest fan of the new hair trend of that weird gap in the middle of the stiff bangs, it's easy enough to comb it out.

As you can see, there are two full sets of jewelry, one more casual than the other more dressier set.  The giftset came with nice sunglasses, a super pair of boots (I probably would've ordered this for the boots alone), flats, socks, a white fun coat, a sparkly top that matches the skirt, cute underwear that doubles as swimwear, and even a little kitten.  Collectors got a lot of bang for the buck with this giftset.  Personally, I consider it one of the best produced in a long time for the quality of items received.  Here is one of the IT promo photos showing different possibilities of the ensembles.

Although I really like the coat, it will probably get used with other ensembles.  Here is how Imogen looks without it.

There is no doubting this is one beautiful doll.  She just might be my very favorite version of this character.  My ONLY issues are very minor.  

First, Imogen's hair was very stiff and seems rooted thicker than the promo photos.  It's not as easy to attain that slicked back, close to the scalp, look as shown in the promo photos.   I just decided to comb mine out a little and actually liked the result.  She somehow reminds me of a modern interpretation of Nancy Sinatra's These Boots Are Made For Walking.  I LOVE IT!

The other issue is the extreme side glance.  When IT produces dolls with this eye screening, one iris is produced larger than the other.  I think it is intentional to achieve the correct gaze.  If the irises were the same size, it would look quite odd.  It was a design choice for this extreme side glance, and although it isn't one of my favorite screenings, it still looks quite nice when photographed at the correct angles.

The first doll added to my collection in 2025 is one that I truly anticipate showing up in my end-of-year countdown, Integrity Toys NuFace Baby Blue Imogen Lennox.  Just a true homerun for Jessy Ayala and Integrity Toys!

Best of 2024 - Number 1

I think I have emphasized enough that the primary focus of my countdown is the "playability" of items included.  That's why the majority of the dolls listed have multiple wardrobe options.   The only nude doll in my countdown was No. 7 Rayna Ahmadi, but one just can't ignore that incredible faceup.  The only doll in my countdown that will actually remain in her original ensemble is La Sombre Alejandra Luna (but she truly is a little piece of art, isn't she).   

My number 1 spot belongs to something that has brought me numerous hours of enjoyment, and I know I will continue playing and fussing with it for years to come.   These types of items are what make doll collecting fun.

When Integrity Toys (IT) promoted its white and gold modular trunk system in February, I was "all in".   These trunks aren't only great for storing your doll's clothing and accessories, they make fantastic backgrounds for photo sessions.  IT did a nice job designing these and made them so you could connect multiple trunks together.   The base model was $225.  Here are photos.  (All the promo photos are from IT)

You could also individualize your set up with the purchase of three "change-out" components.  The light up display case was an additional $50.

There was a multiple drawer base for $45.

And a smaller wardrobe unit, also selling for $45.

I went overboard with this offer and wound up purchasing three of the base unit and two of each component.   With a little patience and creativity, a collector can alter these components for fill their personal collection needs.  I took a thin metal rod and cut the length of one side to create a hanging closet for my longer dresses and pantsuits.  Here is a photo.

I also carefully removed the hanging insert from one of the smaller add-on components and moved it higher so that I could hang sheath dresses there.

Best of 2024 - Number 3 - La Sombre Alejandra Luna

It's fair to say that there is usually at least one "stand-out" doll from every Integrity Toys (IT) convention.  One doll that is just so exceptional she becomes an instant success and future grail.   Sometimes these standouts even become the definitive version of the mold.  Examples of these would be Natural Wonder Rayna Ahmadi, The Enchantress Nadja Rhymes, 24k Erin Salston, and The Muse Adele Makeda.   They become the standard for which future versions are judged.

If one is lucky, the ensemble designed for the doll becomes just as iconic - the best example of this is The Enchantress Nadja Rhymes.   It seems the stars aligned again for Jessy Ayala in 2024.   This is the only doll I purchased on secondary market at a mark-up.  

Who knew this retired school teacher's doll collection needed a trans character doll with purple hair, wearing assless chaps and carrying a bull whip!  It obviously did.  My very favorite IT doll produced this past year ... Best of 2024 - Number 3 is La Sombra Alejandra Luna.

Best of 2024 - Number 5 - Redefined Luxury Kyori Sato

The next doll in my countdown was one of the last to be reviewed in my blog (See: Redefined Luxury Kyori Sato ).   As I mentioned earlier, one of the key factors in selecting dolls for my countdown is "playability".   Few things in doll collecting have more playability than a great giftset, and Redefined Luxury was a FANTASTIC giftset!

Each piece of this wardrobe is meticulously crafted with a keen eye for detail.   Personally, I believe this is the best produced Integrity Toys (IT) product in years.   It also doesn't hurt that IT resurrected one of my personal favorite molds, Kyori Sato 1.0, and gave it a refreshed look.   Although this giftset was based on Ginza Kyori Sato from 2004, it is elevated and actually exceeds the original.

There is so much to love about each part of this giftset and it's been great fun trying the ensembles on other dolls.  To illustrate my point, here is one of my favorite Jamieshow/Owensu Muses, Enchanted Lilly, wearing the evening gown.

Best of 2024 - Number 5 is Redefined Luxury Kyori Sato.

Best of 2024 - Number 7 - No. 7 Rayna Ahmadi

I thought it was appropriate that the doll with the name No. 7 fill the Number 7 slot of my countdown.

Integrity Toys (IT) designer Jessy Ayala definitely favors the NuFace line of dolls, and he is very good with this youthful group of models.  With the focus of the Stilettos Out Convention collection being NuFace, the market was flooded with ten new versions of these characters, plus a W Club upgrade Rayna and a W Club Exclusive Nadja that was promoted in 2023.   NuFace actually out-performed all other lines, excluding Poppy Parker.

Fans of Rayna Ahmadi were fortunate enough to get two versions of her in 2024.  Sweet Retreat is a beautiful doll in its own right, but I fell hard for the Style Lab version, No. 7.  This doll was sold nude and an ensemble was offered separately.  Since I got her at cost from a friend who attended the convention, I got to dress her however I liked.  Here she is in a OOAK Dagamoart ensemble from several years ago.

Just look at those stunning eyes!  With the new "blush" skin tone and sassy short platinum hairstyle, Best of 2024 - Number 7 is No. 7 Rayna Ahmadi.

Best of 2024 - Number 8 - Get Ready With Me Nadja Rhymes

I have already completed a review of this gifset: Get Ready With Me Review.  I am a huge fan of this mold and character and love a good giftset with mix and match options.   I am also a fan of casual clothing options for my dolls.

It didn't hurt that Get Ready With Me reminded me a great deal of A Doll's Life Vanessa Perrin from the 2021 IT online convention.   This Nadja is one that I like using the articulated ankle with, so she can be more casual.  Nadja is wearing the ensemble from Style Mantra Eden from 2009 with her original kitten heel shoes.

It's always a challenge to capture the beauty of this skin tone in photos.  Best of 2024 - Number 8 is Get Ready With Me Nadja Rhymes.

Integrity Toys Stilettos Out Convention Dolls

Before I post, I have to emphasize that I did not attend the Stilettos Out convention, but just like attendees I didn't see any of these dolls in person before purchasing anything!  LOL!  I delayed posting my review because I do not like basing my opinions solely on IT's promo photos.  I waited until seeing collectors' postings on social media.

For the first time since 2019, Integrity Toys was able to offer collectors an in-person doll convention.  A lottery opportunity to attend this convention was announced in the W Club this past April.   Attendance was limited to 550 attendees and the cost to register was $775 - that's right $775.  But, the price included four gift dolls (welcome doll, Poppy Parker luncheon, two event dolls at dinners).  It also gave attendees the opportunity to purchase the exclusive convention collection, centerpiece opportunities, and the style lab which was promoted as NuFace this year.

The theme was "Stilettos Out".  Attendees got to participate in a mystery "whodunit", being provided clues as to why ultra-rare artifacts were disappearing all over the world.  (That's why there are so many different styles within the collection)   It was up to sleuths to not only try to figure out the identity of the thief but the connection of this odd assortment of mystery objects that were stolen.

Unfortunately, the W Club announced about a week prior to convention that none of the dolls had made it through customs in time for collectors to receive them at the convention.  This isn't the first time this has happened to IT.  It is very unfortunate and an issue the parent company should address with overseas suppliers.  The reason to attend the convention is to purchase dolls, but there were no dolls to purchase.  Instead, IT provided cards with QR codes for attendees to scan into their online carts.  At least IT paid shipping costs for these products, but it still left international buyers unable to take home dolls without VAT fees.  

When attendees arrived, they were given their first doll card and their first set of clues.  The doll used the Imogen Lennox mold.  The doll's name was Cryptic Cases Donna Drake, and she was supposed to represent the "super-sleuth" assigned to the case.  She arrived in lace undergarments; additional ensembles were gifted to attendees throughout the convention at the scheduled events.

(Promo Photo by IT) There really isn't anything wrong with this doll.  She's actually a nice version of Imogen Lennox.  As a welcome gift she was a nice start to the convention, even though she was no Fresh Perspective Agnes Von Weiss (which in my opinion was the best ever welcome doll from an IT convention).  Unfortunately, Cryptic Cases Imogen is similar to previous offerings of this sculpt.  A similar (but, in my opinion, much better version of Imogen Lennox) was provided in giftset form at 2012's Tropicalia Convention - Fame by Frame.  She was also a brunette, natural lips, with tan skin tone but green eyes.  (My photo)

Since I already own Fame by Frame and like her screening better, I did not feel the need to seek out Cryptic Cases on secondary market.  Apparently, neither did many other collectors as she is languishing as a complete giftset at about $275 or less on e-Bay.

Sadly, IT put all their doll weight into the convention this year.   Members of the W Club and others who collect IT products have had very slim pickings in 2024.  For Fashion Royalty, there was one upgrade doll, Holiday Spot Dania Zarr, and a two-doll W Club lottery oppportunity, Surrealist Gala - A Collaboration With Sinuhe Guzman featuring Vanessa and Veronique Perrin.  If the focus of your collection was NuFace, there was one W Club upgrade doll, Sweet Retreat Rayna Ahmadi, and a W Club Exclusive, Baby Blue Imogen Lennox.   In other words, if you were not a member of the W Club, you really didn't have an opportunity to purchase a FR or NuFace doll in 2024 without going to secondary market! 

If an attendee got every doll from this convention, they would've added 25 dolls to their collection.  To make things a little easier to follow, I think I will break this post into doll lines.

I am going to start with the Poppy Parker line because all W Club members were given the opportunity to purchase Apres-Ski Asset Poppy Parker prior to convention.   Here is the IT promo photo.

If you are a die-hard Poppy Parker collector, she's actually a nice addition to your collection.  She should display beautifully with the 2018 Luxe Life Convention Poppy Parker collection.  As a matter of fact, she reminded me so much of Chiller Thriller, I didn't even pre-order Apres-Ski Asset.  (My photo below)

Next up are the two versions of Poppy that could be purchased as part of the Convention Collection.  First we have Gold Season Poppy Parker (photo by IT)

Gold Season was an easy pass for me since she looks a great deal like a doll already in my collection, The Midas Touch Poppy Parker from 2015.  (My photo)  

Then there was Swiss Miss Behave.  (Photo by IT)

Based on production photos of this doll on social media, she looks much better than the promo photos.   I actually like this doll quite a bit and considered seeking it out; however, there just isn't a "wow" factor here.   The ensemble is simple, the accessories redundant.  I like the screening and hair combination, but it wasn't enough to pay secondary market prices.

The next versions were offered during the Poppy Parker luncheon.  First up is Illusive Beauty which was the the luncheon doll included in the convention registration fee. (Photo by IT)

This doll is very popular with collectors.  She sort of reminds one of the actress who played Judy Robinson in the original Lost In Space television series.  Designer David Buttry must love this hairstyle because we see it often.  As tempting as this doll was, she was still too similar to previous versions of this character.  Social media photos also prove the production version to outshine the promos.

This one was definitely giving me Shining In The Starlight (2017) vibes wearing a silver version of the Angel in Blue pantsuit.  Again, nothing new and different enough to warrant secondary market prices.

Let's move on to the dolls representing the East 59th Street line.  I have a lot of dolls from this line in my collection, but the hairstyles and faces are beginning to get repetitive.  Offered as part of the convention collection was Agent Sugar North Constance Madison.   (Photo by IT)

There really isn't anything "new" about this version.   Again, it seems to be missing a "wow" factor.  The ensemble is nice, but nothing special.  At e-Bay auction, she is selling for almost retail cost.

I'm just unsure about this doll altogether.   She's a Las Vegas showgirl that reminds me of the two earlier Poppy Parker showgirls.  Unfortunately, the East 59th Street body isn't the most pleasing version to look at, and it is showcased in all its glory here.   The doll itself has a pretty face, but, again, I'm not heading over to secondary market for it.

There were three male dolls offered to collectors at Stilettos.  I only have two IT male dolls in my collection as I much prefer the male dolls from another line.   In my opinion, most IT male dolls come across as "flat" in their facial screenings.  The first male offered was in the Convention Collection and was from The Industry/Tulabelle True line, Raven Tate Tanaka. I'm just not a fan of anything here.  I don't like the fabric choice or hair color.  

Next up are the male dolls from the NuFace Style Lab collection.  Collectors had to purchase the dolls and ensembles separately, but at very attractive prices.  First up is No. 1 Lukas Maverick.   (Photo by IT)

The funny thing is that one of the two IT male dolls I actually own is The Weekender Lukas Maverick, which is a brown hair version of this very doll.  Easy pass on No. 1.

The other IT male doll in my collection is Monsieur Thiago Valente!  But No. 6 is quite a bit different than the earlier versions of this mold.  No. 6 is actually a male doll of color and is extremely well presented.  I've had my hand poised to purchase him several times.  The only thing holding me back is the way his facial hair is painted.  No. 6 is one of my favorite dolls from the entire Convention Collection.

Even though I already own two blonde versions of Tulabelle True (mold 2.0), this doll has been calling my name.  I think she will be coming to my collection after prices stabilize a little after the holidays.  She is just an exceptional version of the mold. 

Now, we can move over to the IT flagship line, Fashion Royalty.   There were six dolls offered from this line at Stilettos Out.

Fortunately, production dolls look better than the promo photos.  Unfortunately, it's not by much.   This doll is probably the least popular from the convention.  Elyse Jolie was Jason Wu's muse for several years, being one of the "gala" dolls in over half the conventions since she was debuted in 2009; oh how the mighty have fallen.

This doll was just too much like Retro Dimensional to warrant the purchase of her NRFB, but I found the ensemble at a terrific price and couldn't resist.  I really had to have those opera glasses in my collection.  (I am sure the owners of the RuPaul dolls will be seeking them out as well!)  Here is my photo of Retro Dimensional in the ensemble.

I am usually a sucker for any doll using the Vanessa Perrin mold 1.0 or Eugenia Frost.  Both of the Stilettos Out versions left me quite lukewarm.  Monegasque Society reminded me somewhat of the 2013 Premier Convention Bittersweet Eugenia Frost which was a "bitter disappointment".  (Photo by IT)  In my opinion, Monegasque Society's faceup is too plain for that deep dramatic red hair.  It just didn't work.

The next Fashion Royalty doll to make an appearance was collector favorite Agnes Von Weiss.  She showed up at the W Club luncheon and was part of a "two-doll giftset".  Oasis Agnes Von Weiss was the centerpiece doll and had to be purchased separately from the luncheon gift doll.  (Photo by IT)

This doll is such a serious temptation.   I just have so many dark haired, brown-eyed versions of Agnes Von Weiss (Regal Estate, Nightfall, Intimate Reveal, Queen of Everything, Vamp, Ocean Drive, Intimate Soiree, Up With A Twist).  Oasis is quite popular on secondary market, so I guess I will just pass for now.

The remaining two Fashion Royalty characters showed up at the Gala Event.   The Centerpiece Doll was Jason Wu's current muse, Aymeline.  The ensemble represented a design by Jason for M.J. Rodriquez to wear at the Emmy Awards Event in 2019.  (Photo by IT)

I love this gown and really like the doll.  Unfortunately, most of the production dolls were rooted with too much hair and had high foreheads.   A good friend of mine, Melody, sold me this doll for a retail price.   I love her eyes and faceup! The gown is one of my favorites.   Here is a closeup of mine.

The other doll was the Event doll.  IT resurrected a grail doll from 2016's IFDC, Anika Luxottica, using the Dasha D'Amboise character mold.  (IFDC Photo by IT)

When all of the stolen artifacts were gathered and assembled, they created her cyborg heart.  This was a cute concept.  There have only been two versions of the Dasha mold that have had any staying power in my collection:  Renegade and Daydream.  Regenesis will not be joining my collection.

This leaves the final line of IT dolls for review, which was the focus of the convention: Nuface dolls.  In addition to the welcome Imogen Lennox, there were eight other NuFace female characters.  Six of these were part of the Style Lab (five purchased separately and one assembled from the pieces included in each Style Lab ensemble).

I really like this mold and think there is much more potential than IT has given opportunity for.  I own several versions of Colette Duranger 1.0, including Paint In Black from 2007.  (My photo)

This is a pale version of Your Motivation Erin.  It is just enough different to be interesting, but I'm still not a fan.

I really like this mold a lot.  I was even a fan when it was Vanessa Perrin (2.0).  The turn-offs are the colors of the hair and irises used on this version.  The hair color reminds me of when my generation was young and we used to put cherry kool-aid on our hair to dye it.   Regardless of my feelings, Criminal Kitty is the fan favorite of the Style Lab and is fetching a hefty price on secondary market.

Now, we are talking.  I am a huge fan of the Rayna Ahmadi mold and own every version.  I was worried about acquiring her, but my dear doll friend Melody came through for me again and sold her to me at cost.  I am ecstatic!  Here is photo of mine in the box.  Love those eyes!

That leaves two NuFace dolls to review.   One was the gift doll from the W Club luncheon (included with the cost of the luncheon).  She is Mirage Giselle Diefendorf.

As much as I want to love this doll, she suffers from the same problem as her big sister Oasis Agnes Von Weiss.  I already own several dark-haired versions of Giselle Diefendorf:  Glam Addict (my personal favorite), AKA Gigi, Wanderlust, and Primary Subject.   She, too, is missing the "wow" factor for me to seek her out on secondary market.  I do love the dress though.

Just like the old saying, I saved the best for last.   Every convention seems to have at least one really big standout fan favorite.  That is the same for Stilettos Out.  One of the dolls from the Convention Collection was Nuface La Sombre Alejandra Luna.   (Photo by IT)

Some collectors actually dislike this doll fervently.  Normally I would not be a fan of the fantasy hair color or the heavy eyeliner.  This fashion is not one usually found in my wheel house.   The bleached eyebrows would be a "no no" in my book.  BUT I LOVE THIS DOLL.  La Sombre reminds me so much of the Cold Carbon dolls.  She is just so elevated and beyond everything else presented at this convention.  The ensemble is just amazing.   La Sombre is the only doll I was willing to seek out on secondary market to purchase.  Here is my closeup of her face.  

So, I only added three dolls from this convention to my collection:

Collecting Cycle 2024: Number 27 - No. 7 Rayna Ahmadi, Number 28 - Hibiscus Aymeline, and Number 29 - La Sombre Alejandra Luna.

I am considering four others: Oasis Agnes Von Weiss, No. 6 Thiago Valente, Swiss Miss Behave Poppy, and Drop Dead Gorgeous Tulabelle True.  

My final thoughts:   

If you attended the Stilettos Out Convention and were a relatively new collector, you would be ecstatic.  This was a solid collection with many beautiful dolls to add to a budding collection.  

If you attended as someone who had been collecting IT dolls for many years, you would see the redundancy and repetition of hairstyles, faces, etc.  Many of these dolls were outshined by previous releases that were quite similar.  You would be fortunate to get the dolls at retail price and be able to pick and choose what stayed and what got sold.  You might even switch out some of the newer versions to replace the older ones.  

If you did not attend the convention, there is enough product available to pick and choose and make some nice selections to enhance your current collection.  You won't need to spend a small fortune and would actually spend less than attending the convention, paying the registration fee, travel, hotel, and food expenses.

I think IT needs to address planning and shipping for future conventions.  I know it must be seriously difficult to coordinate everything so it arrives in conjunction with the event, and it would be cost prohibitive to store everything in their warehouse and ship it again to another location.  I'm not sure what the answer would be, but it is very disappointing to attend a doll convention and not be able to bring any of the dolls home with you.  As a tenured collector, I am tired of seeing re-imagined versions of previously released product.  I really do enjoy my IT dolls, redressing them, photographing them, and displaying them.  Fortunately, there are other sources for wardrobe purchases and other doll manufacturers are beginning to provide options for models.  I would just like to see the company that started my love for out-of-box fashion doll play to thrive and be successful.  I've been a die-hard fan for almost 25 years now and hope to continue my support.
