A Tribute to American Pop Culture

Earlier this year, one of our beloved doll dealers retired.  It was very sad to see Mary T's go, and I wish her well in future endeavors.  Unfortunately, when she closed her shop, there was a really big sale.  This is how I acquired Dynamite Girl (Boy) Cruz without having to pay secondary mark-up prices.

Here is his promotional photo from Integrity:

He sort of looks like he belongs with Dan Aykroyd and Jane Curtain's SNL Conehead skits.  You may remember this:
When my guy arrived, he didn't really have much of a cone.  They had cut the hair straight across.  It was an improvement, but it was still rather high.  I tried to use some BedHead Manipulator and make a faux hawk.  This is my result:

I still wasn't satisfied. His box went into the closet for me to come to a conclusion about what I was going to do.  I don't own many male dolls (hommes), and the Dynamite Guys are a good price.  I decided to get out the boiling water, some paper towels, rubber bands, and Got 2 B Glued.

I feel like my fella went from 1970's comedy to modern day American Idol.  What do you think?

For now, I think I'm going to leave him this way.  He's out of the box and ready to "tool the block"!

  1. Love his new 'do. I didn't get Cruz for this reason his hair. He does look better with Adam Lambert hair :O)

It was sad for Mary T's to close. I got a lot of great things from her over the years.

Thank you for your wonderful comments and the encouragement to write this blog. It is only possible because you read and respond. I do not comment back because I have not figured out how to do that. That is my goal for the New Year - to better design my blog.
